Tonabolic Academy Presents
Beyond the Rep
A 4-day intensive for serious fitness enthusiasts who train hard - and are ready to understand everything about how their body adapts, recovers, and grows.
The trainer gets educated.
The athlete never does.
After 9 years and 38,000+ hours of coaching serious fitness enthusiasts across Hyderabad, we noticed something that no certification course was solving.
The people doing the training - dedicated, consistent, genuinely committed - had never once been taught how their own training works. Not the exercises. The science behind them.
They trusted their coaches. That's good. But the most informed athlete in any room is the one who understands their training deeply enough to question it, adjust it, and own it.
The Informed Athlete Workshop is for that person.
This is not a certification course. You will not leave as a personal trainer.
You will leave as the most informed version of the athlete, you already are.

1 Problem. The Trainer Gets Educated. The Athlete Never Does.
We built this for a very specific person.
Here is how to know, if that person is you!
If you recognized yourself in the left column, and felt a little uncomfortable reading the right one, this workshop was built for you.
If you recognized yourself in the first list, and felt a little uncomfortable reading the second, this workshop was built for you.
Delivered across 4 days over 2 weekends. Every chapter is built around one goal: give you a framework you can apply to your own training, explained in plain language - no coaching jargon, no prior knowledge assumed.
Participants are given a pre-read document over email, before course commencement. It's a simple map of the territory - a basic understanding of how the body is built and what it is made of, so that when the workshop references specific muscles, joints, or movements, you have something to attach those words to. It contains: skeletal system, joints, anatomical positions, muscles, and a little more.
You will move, assess, and apply in the room
You will understand the science and principles
You will build something you take away
The core rules that decide whether any workout actually works. Once you understand these, you'll be able to look at any training plan - including your own - and know whether it's built to get you real results.
A guided evaluation of your current strength, mobility, and movement patterns, using the same tools coaches use professionally. You leave with a personal baseline you can track and retest over time.
You'll learn targeted mobility drills and stability exercises for the joints that need them most. A quick look at why some joints are built to move freely while others are built to stay controlled - and how to spot the imbalance before it becomes an injury.
You'll learn to plan a warm-up and cool-down routine built around your specific workout - not the same generic five-minute routine for every session. A plan that actually prepares your body for what you're about to train.
A guided walkthrough of the fundamental movement patterns behind almost every exercise you'll ever do. You'll learn to recognize correct form instantly - in your own training and in others'.
What actually makes muscles grow and strength increase - reps, sets, load, and rest, explained without the jargon. You'll finally understand why your programme is structured the way it is.
The different types of cardiovascular training and what each one is actually doing for your heart, stamina, and fat loss. You'll learn to choose the right kind for your goal, instead of guessing.
The exact framework coaches use to build a training plan from scratch. You'll apply it directly, live, to start designing your own programme - step by step, with guidance in the room.
How to structure weeks and months of training so you keep progressing instead of plateauing or overtraining. This is the thinking behind every well-built long-term plan, made simple.
What your body actually needs to recover between sessions, and how to train in a way that keeps you strong for decades, not just this year - including how to train around a nagging injury instead of stopping altogether.
Participants get a short preparation task: document your current training programme using the frameworks covered in the first weekend. This becomes the working material for the programme design chapter later in the workshop.
Using everything covered across the workshop, you build your own training plan from the ground up - reviewed and refined with direct feedback from the coaching team.
An open floor to bring your specific questions, sticking points, or confusions straight to Dr. Kaustubh and the coaching team.
Peer-learning moments are built into the four days, not saved for the end. Reviewing and discussing each other's training plans reinforces every concept as you go - and sharpens your own judgment along the way.
A celebration of the work completed, before you leave equipped as the most informed version of the athlete you already are.
The vocabulary to describe, question, and understand what is happening in your training - and in your body.
Your personal movement scorecard from the Day 1 self-assessment - a starting point you can retest every 12 weeks.
Built by you, reviewed by the coaching team. Not a template. Your programme.
Seven principles. Eight programming variables. One review protocol. Tools you will use for life.
Issued by Tonabolic Academy, acknowledging completion of 28 hours of structured training education.
Alumni WhatsApp group, a Week 6 to 8 group check-in call, to ensure what you learned becomes what you do.

Before I was a coach, I was you.
I have run endurance races and climbed mountains. I have cycled long distances and logged years in the gym. I have pushed my body consistently, across disciplines, across decades.
And for most of that time, I understood almost none of what I was actually doing to it. Not because I was not committed - I was relentlessly so. But because nobody ever taught me the science behind the effort. I was an athlete who trained hard and trusted that hard was enough.
Fifteen years in the corporate world - at GE Capital, SBI Card, and Vodafone - built my capacity to lead teams, drive strategy, and scale businesses. What corporate life could not give me was what I was missing as an athlete: a genuine understanding of how my own body adapts, recovers, and grows.
The search for that understanding led me to certifications, to research-backed learning, and eventually to founding Tonabolic in 2017 - built on a belief that fitness could be done differently. With more intelligence. More personalisation. More genuine care for the person being trained.
Nine years later, 38,000+ hours of coaching later, the gap I had felt as an athlete was still there - unchanged across the industry. The trainer got educated. The athlete never did.
The Informed Athlete Workshop is the education I wish had existed when I started training.
"The most dangerous phrase in fitness is not 'I don't train.' It is 'I train hard - so I must be doing it right.'"

Most people choose between medicine and performance. I built a career at the intersection of both.
As a specialist pathologist with over two decades in clinical and academic medicine, I have spent my professional life developing expertise in human biology, evidence-based practice, and diagnostic thinking. I head a national-level ophthalmic pathology center, have earned multiple national academic awards, and have trained and taught within some of India's leading medical institutions.
But my story doesn't begin in a laboratory. It begins with a swimmer - a competitive school and state-level athlete who spent nearly 25 years away from sport. In 2016, at the age of 38, I decided to rebuild myself. What followed was a complete physical transformation: structured training, deliberate nutrition, and a return to competitive athletics that eventually led to six Ironman 70.3 completions, multiple marathons, and a continuing pursuit of strength and performance in my late forties.
I know what it means to be a recreational athlete, with a complicated life. And I coach from that place.
Through certifications in Functional Range Conditioning, mobility, Animal Flow, and rehabilitation-based exercise - combined with my medical training in human biology and physiology - I bring a depth of understanding that most coaches and most doctors simply don't have access to individually.
The Informed Athlete Workshop is built on one belief: that people who understand their training make better decisions, stay healthier longer, and get more out of every session.
You don't need to follow blindly. You need to be informed. That's what this workshop is for.
"Every course in India educates the trainer. Nobody educates the athlete. That changes here."

Dr. Kaustubh leads the academic design and delivery of The Informed Athlete Workshop. His clinical background in pathology - combined with over a decade of serious endurance training - gives him a perspective on how the body works, that very few fitness educators in India can match.
He sits at the intersection of what breaks the body (clinical science) and what builds it (applied training). This is the perspective that drives the workshop's approach to movement quality, training science, recovery, and longevity.
Price increases to ā¹24,000 from Cohort 2 - only 15 founding seats available.
